WALKING THROUGH ART EXPRESSION


The long way that this artist has walked, is full of energy and true
Since she gets her obsession for the arts, has not stop looking the latin contemporary way of her own self to be expressed.

FIRST EXPERIENCES



In Chile she makes studies at the Chilean University school of theater, but the extreme formal method, takes her to look into the periferic way of teaching. She finds Carmen Beuchat, that shows her the possibility of performing, finding her own expression.
In Paris She experience the performance, and gives importance to improvisation,while she studies Graham Techniques and Modern Jazz


NEW YORK



Is not until when she found Alwin nikolais ScHool, that she gets a method from the abstrac proposal, and is not until then, that she finds the way of composing a poetic structure.


In 1972-1973, she performs in Chile her original work and is since then that she wins a space for her work.

center> After the military coup, she goes back to New York, and experiment with a kind of surrealistic wau of performing
In 1974 obtains the distintion for Young Choreographers, and creates her first choreography

1975- 1980

In Rio de Janeiro, Larrain creates the EXPERIMENTAL DANCE_THEATER GROUP, and is with them, that
LATIN VARIATIONS

Getting the creativity Prize for the year 1975
In 1978 wins the CETA GRANT in New York City.
1980: Invited for French Government travels to Paris and the
to Zurich.After a year of looking around, creates the piece
FRAGMENTS OF ANGER IN jAUJAS"LAND

The criticism is elocuent: Larrain show us the world of the broken glass.She satirized the formal life, the bis way of living.

1981- 1986
Difficults years in Chile

With a baggage full of experience, she works at Centro Cultural Mapocho Cultural Center.Forming the Dance-Theater Area and creating the Company she works with until now

Her surrounding is violence, sadness and caos. Stills, she creates several pieces, that reflects the way of social moment in Chile
INTENSIDADES

The secenario is full of suitcases, train sounds and tangos.
The dancers dress up in black and red,goes trough the stage with nostalgy. Is the Exile sensation.
In 1985 IN MEMORIAM IS AN HOMMAGE FOR THREE PEOPLE THAT HAS BEEN MURDER UNDER THE SUN RISE due to politics causes. This affects Larrains,in a very strong way, and from there In Memoriam.

  CUBAN EXPERIENCE 1987
Imagination,vitality, strengh are the principal characteristiques of cuban dancers,sais Larrain.
working with DANZA NACIONAL DE CUBA
for almost six month, she creates CALAMBRE O EL AVE FENIX
Meets Rosario C�rdenas a very talented cuban choreographer and Miguel Iglesias the Company Director, who will help her to understand cuban way of survyving.
What a great dancer was Diana Alfonso,like some girl emerging from a mythe she will lift like a bird,that belongs to a Garcia Marquez story. She did perform until the end, until, she felt under fatality. Diana Alfonso show Larrain the courage, the love for dancing.

And, how to forget Sergio Vitier musique, drums and violins mixing sensuality. That was magic realism, and the chilean artist, did learn from it.

1990- 2000

Ten years has gone by


In this period, Larrain, creates and some of his work,reflects her style, her proposal.
